The ideal candidate will be 18+, possess a high school diploma or GED, and obtain GCIC/NCIC and EMS/Fire dispatch certifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and write at a high school level.
  • 1–2 years of related experience or apprenticeship.
  • GCIC/NCIC certification obtainable.
  • First-aid/CPR certification obtainable.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • EMD/EFD certifications obtainable.
  • Basic Communications Officer certification obtainable.
  • Duties may include other related tasks.
  • Emergency situations may require alternate duties.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, screen, categorize and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
  • Provide emergency medical instructions when needed.
  • Monitor and dispatch radio communications for Police, EMS, Fire and Sheriff's Office.
  • Dispatch required personnel to various incident locations.
  • Enter data into CAD and maintain security of GCIC files.
  • Maintain contact with emergency personnel and coordinate inter-agency responses.
  • Reroute calls to PSAP or notify agencies outside Camden County as needed.
  • Attend training and work rotating 12-hour shifts with on-call duties.
  • Know state and NCIC regulations, radio codes, and county geography.
  • Wear a headset on duty and document interactions accurately.
