Job summary

Josephine County Sheriff's Office seeks a Law Enforcement Dispatcher to receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls. You will prioritize, coordinate, and monitor police or other agency responses while providing pre-arrival instructions and data to field units.

The role requires initiative, strong customer service, and the ability to work both in a team and independently in a 24-hour facility with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn new techniques and adapt to changing high-intensity work
• Ability to learn geography and address systems within Josephine County
• Keyboard at or above 35 wpm with accuracy

Responsibilities

• Receive and process non-emergency calls for service.
• Adhere to confidentiality policies.
• Enter, update and retrieve information from computer systems and reports.
• Monitor multiple radio frequencies and operate consoles, phones, and computers.
• Handle crisis situations or hostile callers professionally.
• Enter data into Records Management system and manage warrants, citations, and records.
• Participate in data entry quality control.
• Relays and coordinates information with other agencies.
• Study local geography and response jurisdictions to improve service.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
