Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age or older
• Must read, write and speak English
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• No felony convictions
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating and extended shifts
• Complete dispatcher training and maintain required certifications

Responsibilities

• Receives calls for service from tenants on an emergency and non-emergency basis
• Dispatches appropriate Police or other service units
• Uses CJIS/LEAPS/NCIC to check warrants, stolen vehicles, registrations and checks on suspects
• Uses CAD to issue reports and maintain dispatcher notes
• Monitors police and dispatch transmissions to detect crimes on BHA property
• Coordinates field response with BHA police, Boston Police and partners
• Assists Elderly Developments officers and tenants with maintenance problems
• Performs other related duties as required
