Job summary

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office is seeking a dedicated dispatcher to answer and route high volumes of telephone and radio calls in the dedicated communications center. You will prioritize requests, coordinate responses, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive law enforcement data.

Responsibilities include entering critical information into TCIC and NCIC systems, supporting training for new personnel, and assisting in the daily operations of the dispatch center.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• One-year probation completed.

Responsibilities

• Receives, evaluates, prioritizes and initiates responses to requests for information and services, including emergency services.
• Accesses, retrieves, disseminates, and protects confidential law enforcement data from protected databases.
• Enters critical data into TCIC and NCIC databases.
• Assists in the training of new personnel.
• Assists in the maintenance of the communications center.
• Performs related work as assigned.
