Alachua County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Telecommunicator to receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls, provide pre-arrival instructions, and enter data into CAD system. You will operate COB radios and FCIC/NCIC teletype, aligning actions with SOPs and agency guidelines.

Within one year, you will train for additional positions such as call-taking or dispatch, with a focus on accuracy, calmness under pressure, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; an associate's degree preferred; a bachelor's degree preferred (Criminal Justice, Communications, or related field).
• Pass CritiCall pre-employment test with a passing score.
• Pass typing test with 35 CWPM or better.
• Complete training modules and attain sufficient expertise to operate in a given position with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls with appropriate instructions.
• Enter data into CAD; evaluate situations and determine needed response.
• Operate COB radio positions and FCIC/NCIC systems per SOPs.
