Job summary

The City of Seattle CARE Department is seeking a Strategic Advisor to advance data analytics, dashboards, and public reporting for emergency response and city operations.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with BI tools, data governance, and performance analytics, and thrives in a collaborative public service environment focused on transparent insights for leadership and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of data management and/or data coordination experience.
• Proficient with Power BI, Tableau, SQL in production environments and producing visual reports.

Responsibilities

• Bridge business and mission needs for data projects with technical approaches.
• Lead CARE’s Data and Analytics Program for 9-1-1 and crisis response data.
• Set governance, policies, and standards for data collection, management, and public reporting.
• Produce recurring dashboards, analytics, and real-time monitoring for leadership and partners.
• Advise leadership on risks, opportunities, and system-wide performance trends.
• Recommend investments in systems, tools, and staffing to scale data programs.
• Support cross-functional teams to advance data practices and metrics.
