City of Saint Paul is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support the Office of Neighborhood Safety and enterprise initiatives. The role is on-site in Saint Paul, MN, focusing on analytic approaches to track progress, measure outcomes, and inform strategy across multiple agencies.

You will deliver reporting, dashboards, and geospatial analytics, and contribute to policy reviews to support day-to-day operations. Strong collaboration with city partners and a data-driven mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Urban Planning, Economics, Political Science, IT, Criminology, Data Sciences, Mathematics, Geography, Sociology, Earth Sciences, Natural Resources or Design.
• Four years of experience designing data collection instruments, conducting research, and analyzing data.
• Eight years total education+experience to qualify per posting.
• Four years of vacancy-related experience may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen how data from multiple domains supports Community First Public Safety framework.
• Produce public dashboards, reports, visualizations, and geospatial analytics for planning teams.
• Develop recommendations grounded in research; may serve as public information liaison.
• Research policies and track changes; present operational impact findings to leadership.
• Support data quality improvement strategies across agencies.
