Job summary

The Port of Seattle Police Department seeks a Police Specialist to provide administrative, professional, and office support. You will handle typing, minutes, reports, and confidential files, and coordinate with departments and stakeholders for various tasks.

You will manage inventory, IT and maintenance work orders, overtime scheduling, and event staffing. You’ll maintain training records, process public records requests, and assist with CALEA accreditation, payroll, and travel tasks.

Qualifications

  • Two years of professional administrative office experience; law enforcement support is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of Washington State Public Records Act and processing requests preferred; 40 WPM typing; five years admin experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including typing letters, memos, minutes, and reports.
  • Coordinate communications with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Manage supplies inventory and order fulfillment.
  • Submit work orders for IT and Maintenance issues.
  • Schedule overtime, squad bidding, and event personnel; maintain calendars.
  • Maintain training records and respond to public disclosure requests; support CALEA accreditation.
  • Serve as front office and non-emergency contact for callers; backup payroll/time and travel support.
