City of Jacksonville is seeking five Revenue Collectors to join the Tax Collector Department. This entry-level role handles reception, processing of payments and issuance of various documents, with training provided on the job.

Formación

• Two years of education and/or experience in cash handling, data entry and face-to-face customer service.
• High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assists the public by providing respectful, courteous and knowledgeable customer service, via face to face, phone, letter, fax and/or email effectively and efficiently.
• Receives and processes payments for taxes, fees, bills and other payments and prepares and issues receipts.
• Prepares and issues routine motor vehicle registrations and tag renewals, animal, hunting and fishing, titles, driver licenses and related documents.
• Reviews application forms and verifies for accuracy and completeness.
• Verifies authenticity of legal documents and determines an individual’s legal presence in this state/county.
• Codes, verifies, enters, and retrieves data using computers and other standard office equipment.
• Responds to inquiries from the public by researching and providing information concerning fees, bills, permits, registrations, tags, titles, licenses and related matters.
• Administers driver license skills road test, when needed.
• Balances cash receipts daily.
• Trains less experienced staff in the processes and procedures of each transaction.
• Files correspondence, documents, and related information.
• May type forms, letters and correspondence.
• Operates motor vehicles.
• Operates personal computers using word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, copiers, validators, and other standard office equipment.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the City of Jacksonville’s competencies.
• Performs related work as required.
