Job summary

The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco seeks a Public Programs and Events professional to support the Director of Public Programs and Engagement in developing, implementing, and evaluating a range of public programs for diverse audiences.

You will manage production workflows, coordinate project meetings, review budgets, and help ensure engaging visitor experiences across the full program lifecycle including outreach, registration, accessibility, and post-event analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in art history, art education, arts management, education, or related field.
  • 3–4 years’ full-time or equivalent experience producing public programs in a museum or cultural setting.
  • Experience managing development of community-based programs.
  • Existing connections with SF Bay Area community stakeholders preferred.
  • Knowledge of Asian and/or Asian American art and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Public Programs and Engagement in developing, implementing, and evaluating public programs for diverse audiences.
  • Manage team-level project management of public programs and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Oversee production workflows for public programs and coordinate meetings and budget reviews.
