Job summary

The Asian Art Museum is seeking a Public Programs & Engagement professional to develop and evaluate a diverse range of public programs. You will manage team-level project delivery, coordinate production workflows, and collaborate across departments to ensure high-quality visitor experiences.

Responsibilities include researching artists, maintaining program calendars, and supporting event logistics, accessibility, and guest engagement. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in art history, art education, arts management, education, or related field.
  • 3–4 years’ full-time or equivalent experience producing public programs in a museum or cultural setting.
  • Experience in event production, program management, and community-based program development.
  • Existing connections with SF Bay Area community stakeholders and artists preferred.
  • Knowledge of Asian and/or Asian American art and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Public Programs and Engagement in developing, implementing, and evaluating public programs.
  • Manage team-level project management of public programs, including deadlines and budgets.
  • Coordinate production workflows, meetings, and spending review with stakeholders.
  • Document and evaluate programs; analyze evaluation outcomes.
  • Research artists, performers, and potential community partners.
