Job summary

The City of Port Townsend is seeking a Library Manager for the Port Townsend Public Library. This term-limited position is anticipated to last one year, with supervisory responsibilities for staff and day-to-day library operations.

Under the Community Services Director, you will manage technical services, collections, public services, and digital outreach, including budget development and policy guidance, while supervising service desks and staff performance assessments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science/Studies (ALA-accredited).
• Washington State Library Board Certification or MLS/MLIS with plan to obtain WSLC.
• Three years progressively responsible public library experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise library operations including interlibrary loans, acquisitions, cataloging, processing, and holdings maintenance.
• Prepare monthly and annual statistical reports and assist in budget development.
• Train staff on systems and software; oversee IT planning and digital outreach.
