Job summary

Kitsap Regional Library is seeking a Branch Manager for the Bainbridge Island location. This role oversees daily operations, builds relationships with patrons, Friends of the Library, and community stakeholders, and works with a Public Services Supervisor to guide staff and services.

The position requires MLS or active enrollment with degree completion within 2 years, plus significant supervisory experience and library certification as applicable in Washington State.

Qualifications

• Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or enrolled with completion within 2 years of hire.
• Washington State librarian certification, or ability to obtain per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bainbridge Island Branch Library under limited supervision.
• Set objectives, design procedures, and align branch activities with library goals.
• Engage diverse community stakeholders and partners to respond to community needs.
• Coordinate internal workflows and communicate with other library departments and branches.
• Recruit, supervise, coach, and evaluate branch staff; manage hours and overtime.
• Represent the branch in community dialogues and advocate for library services.
