Job summary

The City of Port Townsend is seeking a Library Manager for the Port Townsend Public Library. This term-limited position has an anticipated duration of one year.

Under the general direction of the Community Services Director, the Library Manager will oversee technical, collections, and public services, coordinate digital services, supervise staff, manage service desk operations, and supervise budget development and execution.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program; applicants within six months of completion may apply.
• WSLB Certification required upon employment if not already held.
• Three years progressively responsible public library experience.
• Valid Washington driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversees library operations, including technical services, collections, and public services.
• Supervises staff, plans programs, and coordinates library budgets and facilities.
• Maintains library information systems and coordinates with IT and other city divisions.
• Prepares monthly/annual reports and supports reference and reader advisory services.
