Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking a skilled Inspector for the Houston Water/Waste Water Operations division. You will conduct on-site inspections, enforce contract plans, and interact with the public and contractors to resolve technical issues.

You will also prepare field notes, maintain records, and review project drawings. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and four years of construction experience, with a bachelor’s degree able to substitute up to four years.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Four years of skilled construction experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field may substitute for up to four years.
• Requires a valid Texas driver’s license and compliance with driving policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of public infrastructure and enforce contract plans and City codes.
• Coordinate measurements, inspections, and reviews to ensure conformance with specs.
• Prepare field notes, checklists, logs, and technical reports for job sites.
• Maintain filing systems and documentation; review drawings and specs.
