Job summary

Detroit Housing Commission is seeking a Compliance Support Specialist to assist the Asset Management Department with eligibility determination, income/ rent calculations, and compliance oversight for the LIPH Program.

The role requires extensive knowledge of HUD regulations, experience in public housing, and the ability to train staff and manage complex records. The position reports to the Operations and Compliance Manager and supports various AME and mixed-finance properties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, Associates preferred.
• Eleven years in housing management with accuracy in calculations and waitlist management.
• Ten years PUBLIC HOUSING MANAGEMENT.
• Nine years AFFORDABLE HOUSING MANAGEMENT.
• Must have or be able to acquire a valid state driver’s license.
• Must pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct annual recertification and interim recertification interviews per HUD/DHC requirements.
• Establish and maintain resident files per DHC protocols.
• Ensure utility allowances used in tenant rent are correct and accurate.
• Enter 50058 forms to HUD through Asset Management manager.
• Monitor PIC, EIV and issue reporting of day-to-day operations.
• Provide training to staff on PIC and EIV systems.
• Monitor compliance with management, operating and regulatory agreements.
