Job summary

The Detroit Housing Commission is seeking a Capital Asset Specialist to supervise and coordinate construction projects for public and affordable housing in Detroit. You will work closely with the Capital Asset Project Manager and skilled trades personnel to ensure projects meet HUD, state, and local requirements while staying on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in project/construction management, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years supervising construction projects and coordinating with teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and schedules.
• Provide documentation of progress, manpower, schedules, and changes affecting the project.
• Maintain liaison with property managers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve field issues.
• Coordinate procurement actions and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Review designs and specifications; advise on changes to aid Construction.
• Prepare daily project activity reports and manage multiple priorities.
