Job summary

Northeast Texas Public Health District seeks a highly experienced leader to direct all public health emergency preparedness and disease surveillance activities across seven counties. Qualifications

• Master's degree in a health-related field with two years full-time experience in emergency management or epidemiology and disease surveillance.
• Knowledge of public health preparedness, response, and emergency management planning and operations.
• Ability to organize, prioritize workload, and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership and assessment of preparedness activities for local readiness and interagency collaboration.
• Monitors disease incidence and develops surveillance policies and protocols.
• Directs epidemiologic investigations and surveillance programs; coordinates outbreak response.
• Interviews, hires and supervises program staff; manages leave and travel requests.
• Plans and directs epidemiologic/outbreak investigations and provides training materials.
