Job summary

Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council is seeking an experienced Division Director to lead Emergency Preparedness and Response. This role oversees disaster planning, coordination with hospitals, EMS, and public health agencies to ensure rapid, effective regional responses.

The epicenter of responsibilities includes managing grant-funded programs, building partnerships with ASPR and DSHS, and guiding readiness across Trauma Service Area P.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science or equivalent work experience.
• Certification as EMT-Paramedic, Licensed Paramedic or RN preferred.
• At least three years of managerial or administrative experience.
• Knowledge of NIMS, Hospital Incident Command Systems and NRP.
• Familiarity with ASPR, CDC and Homeland Security Grant Programs.
• Completion of IC 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800.

Responsibilities

• Oversee disaster and emergency management planning for STRAC region.
• Coordinate with hospital and EMS partners to ensure readiness and response planning.
• Manage Hospital Preparedness Program contract and ASPR-related activities.
• Engage with state/federal agencies to align grant funding and program delivery.
• Lead strategic direction and capacity building for regional health readiness.
