Job summary

Keller Executive Search is seeking an Assistant Executive Director for a major public health district on the Texas Gulf Coast. The role reports to the Executive Director and oversees multiple departments, programs, and ~251 employees to ensure high performance and strong financial governance.

The successful candidate will bring senior-level management experience in public health or healthcare, along with a solid track record in grant management, budgeting, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Public Health or related field with 4+ years of senior managerial experience in public health or healthcare.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience with HRSA programs, sub-grant management, and federal funding mechanisms.
• Experience preparing and submitting federal/state grant applications and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Director in overall management, administration, and strategic planning across operations.
• Oversee daily operations of departments and programs, ensuring service delivery and compliance.
• Direct grant management, including HRSA applications, sub-grants, and reporting.
• Monitor program performance, fiscal operations, and budget compliance across departments.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director on governance, reports, agendas, and presentations.
• Lead or co-lead public health preparedness, disaster response, and emergency management initiatives.
• Support budget development, resource allocation, and financial oversight.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, local governments, and healthcare providers.
