Job summary

East Central District Health Department/Good Neighbor Community Health Center is seeking an Emergency Response Coordinator to lead Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant activities and the agency's Emergency Response Plan. You will analyze risk, coordinate training, and partner with local and state entities to strengthen disaster readiness.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field and at least 2 years in emergency management or public health, with strong communication and HIPAA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
• 2 years of progressive, demonstrated experience in Emergency Management, local or state government, public health, or related field
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Skill in effective problem-solving and conflict resolution
• Ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds
• Ability to adapt to flexible work environments
• Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with employees, officials, partner agencies, and the public
• Ability to facilitate internal emergency preparedness training and external meetings with community partners
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated record of HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Work with community stakeholders to create an annual risk assessment including hazard vulnerability assessment to determine ECDHD’s risk for disasters.
• Assist in the development and implementation of strategic and operational procedures to execute public health emergency functions.
• Coordinate and facilitate training for community stakeholders and maintain COOP and ERP.
• Identify potential disease outbreaks within the jurisdiction in collaboration with ECDHD staff.
• Manage emergency preparedness grant and work plan including budget monitoring and timely reporting to NE DHHS.
• Coordinate with community partners to include vulnerable populations in emergency plans.
• Collaborate with regional/state partners to identify roles and ensure obligations are fulfilled.
• Participate or oversee preparedness planning meetings and exercises with local health departments and partners.
• Respond to public inquiries on emergency preparedness issues and provide information and education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
