Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Columbus, OH is seeking a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples, track client/sample IDs, and perform analysis steps in a regulated laboratory setting.

You will work Monday–Friday on site, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage and a 401(k) plan. This role requires a HS Diploma and basic science/computer skills to ensure accurate testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work.
• Basic knowledge of science to accurately perform testing procedures.
• Basic knowledge of personal computers for data entry.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures for a safe work environment.
• Planning skills to maintain supplies and stay on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
• Write identification onto plates so client and sample can be tracked.
• Pipette sample solution into tubes or plates according to analysis process.
• Pour agar into plates or tubes to begin growth.
• Incubate plates at prescribed time and temperature.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as required.
• Maintain knowledge of LIMS to complete responsibilities.
• Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis.
• Read plates and tubes to determine organism counts.
• Support quality and continuous improvement processes.
