MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Columbus, OH seeks a Microbiology Technician - Plating to join the laboratory team. The role supports sample preparation, plating, incubation, and documentation within a regulated quality environment.

The position requires a High School Diploma and 1+ year relevant work, basic science knowledge, and familiarity with LIMS. It offers a 10 AM start, Sunday-Thursday rotation after training, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma with 1+ year relevant work experience.
• Basic science knowledge to perform testing procedures accurately.
• Basic PC knowledge to enter data and results.
• Ability to follow laboratory safety procedures and policies.
• Planning skills to manage supplies and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for processing and document procedures to enable testing.
• Record, weigh, and blend samples for analysis.
• Identify plates with client/sample numbers for tracking.
• Pipette solutions into tubes or plates as per protocol.
• Pour agar and begin growth for analysis.
• Incubate plates at specified times and temperatures.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as required.
• Maintain LIMS knowledge for job responsibilities.
• Set up equipment and materials for analysis.
• Read plates/tubes to determine organism counts.
• Support quality and continuous improvement processes.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and sanitized.
• Participate in cleaning schedules and retain samples as needed.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Support management in system implementation and improvement.
