Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Arlington, TX is seeking a Microbiology Technician. You will prepare samples, record data, label plates, pipette solutions, pour agar, incubate and read plates, and maintain safe lab practices. Strong attention to detail and basic science knowledge are required.

The role requires ability to work evenings and weekends, with a focus on documentation, LIMS usage, and routine housekeeping in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work experience.
• Basic science knowledge to perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies.
• Planning skills to maintain supplies and ensure timely analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis and record data.
• Label plates with client and sample numbers for tracking.
• Pipette solutions into tubes/plates according to procedures.
• Pour agar and begin growth; incubate plates per protocol.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as required.
• Maintain clean, safe lab areas and equipment.
• Operate and reference the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Set up equipment and materials for analysis; read plates/tubes for organisms.
