Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Minnetonka, MN is seeking a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples, label and analyze specimens, and support pathogen testing.

The role requires an HS Diploma and 1+ year of relevant work, basic science knowledge, data entry skills, and strict adherence to safety protocols. The position offers four 10-hour shifts Wednesday–Saturday, 11:00 AM–9:30 PM, with $19.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work experience.
• Basic science knowledge helps accurate testing results.
• Basic computer skills aid data entry and results recording.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures is essential.
• Planning skills help maintain supplies and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples by recording, weighing and blending.
• Label plates with client and sample numbers for traceability.
• Pipette solutions into tubes or plates for analysis.
• Pour agar to start growth of cultures.
• Place plates in incubator for specified time and temperature.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as needed.
• Ensure materials are ready for next testing sequence.
• Maintain Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) documentation.
• Set up equipment and materials for analyses.
• Read plates/tubes to count organisms.
• Support quality processes and continuous improvement.
• Keep work areas clean and sanitized; perform housekeeping.
