The City of Asheville is seeking a motivated Project Manager I to oversee a diverse portfolio of public facilities projects in the Capital Management Department. You’ll plan, schedule, budget, and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and city staff to deliver maintenance, renovations, and improvements on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, effective communication with city leadership, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field with 1 year of project design/planning experience or 3 years in exemplary local government project management.
• Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder coordination abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Develops project plans, manages schedules, budgets, and contingencies to meet goals.
• Provides guidance to consultants, contractors, and city staff and ensures contract compliance.
• Acts as public liaison, coordinates media outreach and information materials as needed.
• Oversees procurement, permitting, inspections, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinates programming, design, bidding, and vendor selection processes.
• Monitors construction progress, resolves issues, approves change orders, and ensures quality.
