The City of Asheville seeks a Streets Division Manager to lead a ~60-person team in Public Works, overseeing street and sidewalk construction, maintenance, and related programs. You will supervise staff, manage budgets and CIP projects, provide technical guidance, and liaise with diverse partners and the public.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in civil engineering and NC PE license, 7–10 years in street construction/maintenance with leadership experience, and a NC driver’s license.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• NC Professional Engineer license required.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in managing street construction, maintenance, and repair projects, including 5 years lead or supervisory experience.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise, direct, and evaluate staff; handle performance appraisals and training.
• Organize and assign work to meet objectives with adequate resources.
• Develop and implement long- and short-term plans for street and sidewalk construction, maintenance, and repair.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including CIP budgets, contracts, and field work.
• Provide technical recommendations and participate in plan reviews for development; advise on constructability and traffic movements.
• Represent the division in meetings and handle public inquiries and complaints.
