Job summary

City of Durham seeks a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead complex capital improvement projects for city facilities. You will oversee design and construction lifecycles, manage budgets, schedules, risk, and contracts, and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and City stakeholders.

This role may include energy management responsibilities and reporting to leadership. Required are a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of municipal project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, building construction, construction management, architecture or related field.
• Five years of construction project management experience.
• Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Designs and manages complex capital improvement projects based on client needs and expectations.
• Performs quality assurance, inspections, schedules, budgets and risk management.
• Develops budgets, tracks expenditures, processes payments and manages grants.
• Prepares and reviews contracts, plans and proposals; communicates with stakeholders.
• Collaborates with designers, contractors, attorneys and City departments; presents to City Council.
