Job summary

The City of Asheville is seeking a Project Manager II within the Public Facilities Management Division of the Capital Management Department to oversee a diverse portfolio of facilities projects.

The role focuses on planning, budgeting, coordinating with consultants and contractors, communicating with the public and city officials, and ensuring timely delivery of maintenance, repairs, and renovations that improve user experience and facility reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in facilities project management, construction management, or related field; or five years alternative.
• Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates daily work activities of assigned staff and coordinates with supervisor to obtain direction.
• Manages project planning, budgeting, and scheduling across multiple facilities.
• Represents the City in public meetings and with contractors and consultants; coordinates public relations and education activities.
