Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to implement care plans established by a licensed physical therapist, treating patients across ages. This role emphasizes patient education, documentation, and collaboration with therapists to adjust care based on patient response.

Requires an Associate’s Degree with PTA licensure in good standing and BLS certification. The department supports ongoing education and may include participation in aquatic therapy and electro-stimulation

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s Degree or higher in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• License as PTA (IDFPR) in good standing or eligible for licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, and caregivers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows and adapts therapy plan of care after communicating with the PT.
• Documents progress and billing per policy.
• Complete annual education to comply with hip/knee programs when applicable.
• Coordinate with PT on patient treatment interventions and referrals.
