Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to implement the plan of care prescribed by the Physical Therapist, treating patients of all ages and serving as a clinical resource for staff and students.

This role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates. Educational requirements include an Associate’s Degree and licensure as a PTA; BLS is required within 30 days. You will collaborate with the PT and care team to support patient progress and documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed PTA in IL or eligible to obtain license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care; communicates with the evaluating therapist and documents this in the daily note.
• Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy.
• Completes annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
• Follows treatment plan of care and provides interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR; coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions; communicates progress and recommendations to referring provider.
