Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to implement plan of care and serve as a clinical resource for staff and students. The role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant and licensure (or eligibility) as a PTA, plus BLS certification. The department emphasizes education and patient-focused care within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Licensed PTA with IDFPR certification (and eligible for licensure in Illinois as noted).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students and other health care providers.
• Follows therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response after communication with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation in accordance with Clinical Documentation Policy.
• Completes annual education as assigned to comply with program requirements (DNV Hip and Knee Replacement).
• Follows treatment plan of care and provides interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound; administers electrical stimulation; aquatic therapy; completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR; coordinates with PT; communicates progress to referring provider.
