Job summary

Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Woburn, MA is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide resident-centered rehabilitation services in a collaborative setting. The role requires Massachusetts PTA licensure, graduation from an APTA-approved PTA program, strong communication, and ability to work within a dynamic team to support patient

Qualifications

• Massachusetts state license required for PTA.
• Graduate of an APTA-approved PTA program.
• Must comply with state, federal, and APTA standards of practice when planning and carrying out treatment programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a cooperative therapy team.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day treatment including bed mobility, transfers, gait, stairs, ambulation, ROM, strengthening, stretching, re-education, balance and coordination.
• Communicate with other disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary teamwork and patient care.
• Participate in home visits, family conferences, and community awareness/marketing activities as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in residents' medical records.
• Provide treatment according to the established plan of treatment.
• Supervise rehabilitation and restorative aides regarding patient treatments, ROM, ambulation, and positioning.
• Complete all required documentation and treatment changes per facility policies.
• Meet discharge documentation standards including FIMS, home treatment programs and equipment recommendations.
