The City of Santa Clarita is seeking part-time, temporary Maintenance Worker I or II in the Public Works General Services division to assist in street maintenance under supervision. Positions may work up to 32 hours per week with evenings, weekends, and some holidays required, including a full weekend schedule.

Maintenance Worker I/II responsibilities include repairing concrete, pavement patching, road construction tasks, traffic signage maintenance, and safety compliance.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six months of maintenance-related experience or similar work.
• Valid Class C California driver's license and clean driving record.
• Basic knowledge of asphalt, sidewalks, street signs, and markings.
• Ability to work outdoors, in inclement weather, and around traffic.
• Commitment to safety in the public right‑of‑way.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

Mansioni

• Assist in repairing concrete structures and pavement maintenance.
• Support road construction tasks, base material preparation, and surface finishing.
• Assist with traffic signage, markings, and guardrails; provide traffic control support.
• Help with weed abatement, debris cleanup, and emergency response duties.
• May supervise court‑appointed community service workers and perform other duties as assigned.
