Ivy Tech Community College in Gary, IN seeks an SI Leader to support students in historically difficult courses through supervised study sessions and classroom attendance.

This in-person role requires a high school diploma or GED, some college coursework, and a commitment to academic integrity. Earn $15.00/hour up to 28 hours per week, with benefits for part-time staff.

Responsibilities include attending class, leading group study, coordinating with faculty, and helping with program evaluation.

*This is an in person position*Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that targets historically difficult courses. The SI Leader is a student or recent Ivy Tech graduate who has taken and excelled in the class. SI Leaders should be prepared to share with students how to effectively study for the course. SI Leaders attend the same class every day, taking notes and listening closely to the professor.Major Responsibilities:Participate in SI Leader TrainingSupport and participate in campus and student life events for studentsAttend all class sessions and serve as a model studentConduct group study sessionsCollaborate with faculty to integrate content and learning skillsCollect data for program evaluationThe above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.Compensation: $15.00/hour** Location: Gary **Schedule: days and times vary based on course schedule and candidate availability.
