The Georgia Department of Public Health Coastal Health District seeks a physician to provide comprehensive medical services to persons living with HIV under minimal supervision. Under minimal supervision, provides comprehensive medical services to persons living with HIV by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, diagnosing conditions and providing treatments. Directs nurses, aides and others in the care and treatment of patients. Serves as a back-up and consult to midlevel providers. Provides patient education on disease states and health promotion, including PrEP for HIV prevention. Collaborates with nurses, social workers, pharmacists, mental health counselors and other health care providers. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures as indicated. Prescribes or administers OI, STD and hepatitis treatment, therapy, medication & vaccinations. Evaluates and triages walk-ins. Involves travel to multiple HIV clinic sites at Brunswick & Hinesville.
