Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health’s Northeast Health District HIV Prevention Program seeks a professional to provide HIV prevention, testing, counseling, outreach, and linkage-to-care across the district. The role connects HIV-diagnosed individuals to care and supports access to PrEP and related services.

You will implement ARTAS, collaborate with healthcare providers and partners, conduct outreach, and monitor program data to improve outcomes in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social/behavioral, or biological sciences from an accredited college.
• Experience providing HIV prevention, care, sexual health, or related public health services.
• Experience with community outreach, health education, counseling, case management, or linkage-to-care.
• Experience providing HIV testing, point-of-care testing, risk-reduction counseling, or health screening.
• Knowledge of HIV prevention strategies including PrEP.
• Experience with ARTAS or similar linkage-to-care interventions.
• Experience documenting services and maintaining confidential health information.
• Ability to work with individuals facing barriers to care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly service reports and quarterly narratives.

The Northeast Health District’s HIV Prevention Program is seeking a qualified professional to provide HIV prevention, testing, counseling, outreach, and linkage-to-care services throughout the district. This position plays a key role in connecting individuals diagnosed with HIV to medical care and supporting individuals seeking access to PrEP and other prevention services.

The selected candidate will implement the Anti-Retroviral Treatment and Access to Services (ARTAS) intervention and work collaboratively with healthcare providers, public health programs, and community partners to identify individuals who are not currently engaged in HIV care and assist them with accessing and maintaining appropriate services. The position also conducts community-based outreach and testing, maintains program data, monitors service outcomes, and assists with quality improvement activities.

Bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in HIV prevention, HIV care, sexual health, infectious disease, or a related public health program.
• Experience providing community outreach, health education, counseling, case management, care coordination, or linkage-to-care services.
• Experience providing HIV testing, point-of-care testing, risk-reduction counseling, or other community-based health screening services.
• Knowledge of HIV prevention strategies, including PrEP, and resources available to individuals living with or at increased risk for HIV.
• Experience with the Anti-Retroviral Treatment and Access to Services (ARTAS) intervention or other evidence-based linkage-to-care or re-engagement interventions.
• Experience documenting client services, maintaining confidential health information, and entering data into electronic health records, case management systems, or program databases.
• Experience working with individuals who may experience barriers to accessing or remaining engaged in healthcare services.
