Job summary

Indiana University Health System seeks a part-time Night Patient Care Technician (PCA) to assist with activities of daily living and support the bedside care team. The role emphasizes compassionate, safe patient interaction in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, hydration, mobility, bathing, and linen management, while reporting vital signs and changes to the RN. A strong focus on safety and infection control is required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or attained through IU Health PCA program.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility, such as helping patients with meals, drinks, walking, baths, and linens.
• Provide clinical support to the bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting changes.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts, alarms, and staying within arm's reach.
• Support infection control practices and maintain clean, orderly patient environments.
