Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care and support to patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. As a PCA, you will assist with meals, mobility, baths, and linen changes while collaborating with RNs and the care team.

The role emphasizes safety, infection control, and accurate reporting of patient conditions. This PRN position offers meaningful patient interaction and opportunities for growth within a renowned hospital

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility.
• Must follow infection control principles and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care and support to patients, including helping with meals and baths.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Assist with walking, linens, gowns, and meal ordering as needed.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts, alarms, and staying within arm's reach.
