Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) for a full-time night position. The PCA provides bedside care including assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, meals, baths, and linen changes while supporting the RN and care team.

The role requires compassion, strong communication, and adherence to safety and infection control protocols. Current BLS certification is required, with opportunities for development and tuition reimbursement within IU Health.

Qualifications

• Provide care activities of daily living and mobility assistance.
• Maintain patient safety and observe for changes.
• Communicate with RN and charge nurse on patient status.
• Follow infection control and hygiene practices.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Ability to read basic math and document patient information.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility, including helping with meals and personal care.
• Take vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Support the patient care team to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Use gait belts and alarms to maintain patient safety and prevent falls.
