Willow Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Part-Time Cook to support our dietary team in a healthcare setting. You will prepare meals per planned menus and dietary guidelines, ensure timely service, and uphold safety and sanitation standards in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, resident-centered service, and opportunities for ongoing training. This is a part-time position with a supportive workplace culture and ongoing development opportunities.

Competenze

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in cooking preferred; healthcare/long-term care experience is a plus.
• Valid ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification preferred, or ability to obtain as required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary requirements helpful.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals for residents according to planned menus, dietary guidelines, and physician-ordered special diets




• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining quality, taste, and presentation




• Follow proper food handling, storage, and preparation procedures




• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and applicable state and federal regulations




• Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitized




• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanup as needed




• Work collaboratively with dietary team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations




• Help provide courteous, timely, and resident-centered meal service

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age




• Previous cooking experience preferred; healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional kitchen experience is a plus




• Valid ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification preferred, or ability to obtain as required




• High school diploma or GED preferred




• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and special dietary requirements preferred




• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
