Job summary

Willow Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Full-Time Flex Cook to join our dietary team. You will prepare and cook meals for residents, assist with kitchen operations, and ensure meals meet dietary guidelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous cooking experience preferred, healthcare/long‑term care or institutional kitchen experience is a plus.
• Valid ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification preferred, or ability to obtain as required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and special dietary requirements preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on facility needs.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Dependable, adaptable, and committed to providing excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for residents according to planned menus, dietary guidelines, and physician-ordered special diets.
• Assist with meal preparation and kitchen operations across shifts as needed.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining quality, taste, and presentation.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and preparation procedures.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Assist with serving meals, kitchen cleanup, and closing procedures as needed.
• Work collaboratively with dietary team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Adapt to changing schedules and staffing needs to support consistent meal service.
