Job summary

Willow Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our dietary team. You will prepare and cook meals for residents, ensure on-time service, and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous cooking experience preferred; healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional kitchen experience is a plus.
• Valid ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification preferred, or ability to obtain as required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and special dietary requirements preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for residents according to planned menus, dietary guidelines, and physician-ordered special diets.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining quality, taste, and presentation.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and preparation procedures.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanup as needed.
• Work collaboratively with dietary team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Help provide courteous, timely, and resident-centered meal service.
