Job summary

Health Advocates Network is seeking a licensed Psychologist for a Brentwood, TN travel assignment. The role offers travel pay at $76.13 per hour with lodging and meals stipends totaling $1,512.00 per week, plus a combined weekly earnings of $4,557.20.

You will conduct screening, assessments, and treatment for inmates as part of a mental health team, coordinating with psychiatrists, nurses, and other staff to ensure integrated care.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology required.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice psychology in the practice state.
  • Two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable role.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Copy of PSV from licensing board or verification agency if required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychological screenings and assessments from records and interviews.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and others to coordinate care.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans.
  • Conduct rounds to assess inmate mental health and adjust care as needed.
  • Provide counseling and crisis interventions for inmates.
  • Engage with medical and security staff to understand escalation of issues.

Travel Pay: $76.13 / hour

Travel Rate (based on 40 hours): Hrly $76.13, Stipend (Lodging $910.00 + M&I $602.00) = $1,512.00

Total Comp :$4,557.20

Travel Eligibility: Candidates must live at least 70+ miles from the facility to qualify for Travel Pay.

Shift Details:
  • Full Time Schedules
  • Some weekends may be required
  • 13 weeks Full time- 40 hours per week.
  • Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)
  • 4 weeks initial duration Must be at least board eligible to qualify for privileges
Psychologist Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements.

  • Conducts psychological screenings and assessments based on review of available records, and clinical interviews with inmates.

  • As part of a mental health team, confer with other clinical staff, e.g., psychiatrists, mental health service providers, physicians, nurses, social workers, in order to gather and provide information concerning patient psychological problems, to ensure treatment activities are well integrated, and patient care follow-through occurs.

  • Provides treatment to inmates by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and level of functioning.

  • Makes regular rounds in segregation or other confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs.

  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by way of treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload.

  • Provides appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and confrontation avoidance interventions to address the needs of inmates in crisis.

  • Consults with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security staff, and others, as applicable to gather information and understanding into the reasons for the escalation of problems behaviors and changes in mental health condition of inmates.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Doctoral degree in Psychology.
  • Must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state where practice occurs.The license MUST be in good standing
  • Must have two (2) years of clinical experience, which includes one year in a comparable position.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
