As aPsychologistin a correctional or detention facility, the role involvesprovidingclinical mental health services toinmate patients. The Psychologistis responsible forprovidingclinical supervision and guidance to any mental health professionalsassistingthem.The Psychologist must provide mental health services that are consistent with their professional training and experience while meeting the expectations of the facility.
Provide clinical and consultation services consistent with professional standards and institutional policies and procedures.
Conduct direct clinical services including diagnosis, treatment, psychological testing, and crisis intervention.
Ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards of care andparticipatein quality improvement activities.
Develop and implement goals andobjectivesfor clinical services andassistin staff recruitment andselection.
Notifyappropriate personnelof serious incidents andprovideprofessional education and staff development as needed.
