How you make a difference

As a Psychologist in a correctional or detention facility, you will provide clinical mental health services to inmate patients and supervise other mental health professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and consultation services consistent with professional standards and institutional policies.
• Conduct direct clinical services including diagnosis, treatment, psychological testing, and crisis intervention.
• Ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards of care and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Develop and implement goals and objectives for clinical services and assist in staff recruitment and selection.
• Notify appropriate personnel of serious incidents and provide professional education and staff development as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Doctorate in psychology and experience with mental health delivery systems.
• Significant professional experience in the mental health field, including diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders and psychological evaluation techniques.
• Licensed to practice psychology in the State of employment by the appropriate state licensing agency.
