Job summary

Valor Healthcare is seeking a Psychiatric Technician at Hurlburt - Duke Field, FL to provide behavioral health support, conduct patient intakes, and assist with counseling under licensed supervision. The role supports family advocacy programs and coordinates with command family support organizations to improve program operations.

The candidate will maintain databases, prepare statistical reports, and participate in program development and resource management while ensuring compliance and budget

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a psychiatric / mental health program assistant.
• Extensive knowledge of DoD, Service and community social service, family support, and behavioral healthcare resources.
• Must be able to hold and maintain a government security clearance.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• If military trained must be as a mental health technician / specialist.
• Must be willing to receive specialized training on peer support counseling, community resources and referrals and suicide prevention.

Responsibilities

• Intake and assist in the care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients and counsel clients/patients with personal, behavioral or psychological problems.
• Accomplish work on a substantially independent basis, performing a full range of standard and nonstandard work assignments and revolving a variety of non-recurring problems encountered on own initiative.
• Populate and maintain computerized database that will contain all units within the HQ organization.
• Monthly statistical reports for various entities / sections.
• Update the Family Advocacy (FAP) and Behavioral Health training database monthly.
• Prepare biannual Social Work / Behavioral Health PowerPoint presentation.
• Assist with development of program operation instructions. Work with others to uncover inefficiencies and give recommendations for improvement.
• Review of operation to ensure functioning within budget.
• Develop and maintain appointments, physical property and inventory.
• Frequent interface with the Command's family support organizations.
• Assist with Case Review Committee meetings.
• Maintains resource library.
