Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Psychiatric Technician in Philadelphia to administer medications and therapeutic treatments, monitor side effects, and document outcomes. You will support resident safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment, while communicating with staff to ensure timely patient care.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and preferred mental health experience; hours are 3pm-11pm with every other weekend, and benefits include comprehensive coverage

Qualifications

• Mental Health experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record are required

Responsibilities

• administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
• provide care in a manner that considers the patients rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
• observe, document and report resident behavior
• monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
• communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
• fill in resident charts
• assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
• order refills of medications
• act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
