Job summary

EPITEC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a 12-month contract in Mossville, IL. This full-time, onsite role focuses on design, fabrication, testing of prototype machines and systems, from concept to build and validation.

This position emphasizes hands-on fabrication and technical design, offering exposure to first-of-their-kind projects and collaboration with engineers, technicians, and leadership to bring ideas from concept to prototyping and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Associate degree candidates may be considered with 9+ years of applicable technical experience.
• Strong ability to create engineering drawings and interpret blueprints/schematics.
• Experience with CAD software and mechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and test mechanical systems and prototype components.
• Support multiple prototype projects through design, build, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Create and review engineering drawings, models, and documentation.
• Utilize CAD tools to develop prototype designs and support manufacturing processes.
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Operate and maintain prototype manufacturing equipment (3D printers, CNC machinery, cutting/milling/welding tools).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop prototyping and manufacturing best practices.
• Track prototype inventory and provide logistics support for project execution.
