Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking an experienced Prototype Machinist to join our growing precision manufacturing team.

The ideal candidate will take a part from engineering drawing through completed component, planning the machining process, selecting tooling and workholding, programming equipment, setting up machines and inspecting finished parts. This role focuses on prototype, development, and short-run machining for aerospace, defense, and commercial customers, requiring collaboration with

Qualifications

5+ years of precision machining experience, including prototype or low-volume work.
Strong CNC setup and programming skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
Proficient with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
Problem solving and independent decision making with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC and manual equipment for prototype and short-run parts.
Review drawings and specs to determine machining requirements.
Develop machining strategies and tool selection.
Program, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs as needed.
Design workholding and fixturing for unique parts; manage first article inspection.
Document processes and maintain a safe, organized workspace.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes.
